Andrew Robertson began playing the bassoon at 11. He spent a year at the Junior Royal Academy of Music whilst taking his Music A-level at Harrow School. As a soloist he has played Elgar's Romance, Addison's Concertino and Weber's Concerto, however chamber music is what he most enjoys and he has taken part on courses with the National Youth Wind Orchestra and at Chamber Music International (Purcell School of Music).

Andrew read Music at Fitzwilliam College, studying the bassoon with Pete Harrison, in London.  He played in Cambridge's principal chamber orchestra (CUCO), baroque orchestra (CUBE) and the contemporary music group (CB3). He also held a Cambridge University Instrumental Award as part of the University's scheme to enable gifted players to attain a high level of chamber music performance with professional coaching. Under this scheme he has played in both a wind quintet and a piano and wind sextet.

Andrew graduated in 2008.
