Anna Jones grew up in Carmarthen, west Wales, where she was fortunate to be taught the ’cello by Elizabeth Hayes from infant school until the sixth form. During that time she played with the National Children’s Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Wales and a variety of local and regional ensembles, before joining the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in 1993. After reading Music at Merton College Oxford, and further cello study with John Senter and Lowrie Blake, she came to Cambridge as Graduate Trainee Librarian at Trinity College, and set out on the path that brought her to her present post as Lee Librarian at Wolfson College.

Besides cello playing Anna enjoys choral singing and regularly performs with small groups based in Ely and as part of voluntary cathedral choirs.
