Felix Tham is now studying for a Masters in Laws at Kings College London, where
he leads the University of London Symphony Orchestra and the Concordia
Quartet. He started his violin studies at the age of five under the tutelage of
Yau Sing-yeh and Lee Hau-yee, and subsequently took lessons from Professor
Lin Yao-ji of the Central Conservatory of Beijing. Tham has appeared as a
soloist with the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra
and the China Films Philharmonic Orchestra. He was also invited to play as a
soloist in the Tenth Tochigi Prefecture National Culture Festival, Japan, and
the Pan Pacific International Music Camp in Australia. He was the youngest
guest performer in the Skene Award Competition at the Aberdeen International
Music Festival in Scotland where he won the Best Newly Formed Ensemble and
Audience Prize. Tham was accepted as a music scholar to Winchester College,
where he studied under Mr. Adrian Adlam. Whilst at Durham University, he
formed and led several quartets, including the Garmisch Quartet, which
performed in Germany and at the Thaxted Festival. |
