She won an Associateship of Trinity College, London at the age of 15; she was a major music scholar at Ipswich School, and is a recent graduate of Selwyn College, Cambridge. As a University Instrumental Award holder, Helen led various chamber groups in coaching with such eminent ensembles as the Endellion quartet, and in performances in Cambridge, Newcastle and Windsor; with the Garmisch quartet [formed as part of the Chamber Musicians of Cambridge] she has performed works by Debussy and Beethoven at the Richard Strauss Institute in Bavaria, and at the Thaxted Festival. As a soloist, she has performed Violin Concertos by Beethoven and Elgar with The Diomedes Ensemble under Kim Ashton and the Ely Sinfonia with Peter Britton, and has recently given recitals in most College venues in Cambridge.  While at Cambridge University, Helen studied the violin with Howard Davis, leader of the renowned Alberni Quartet, and continued to study with him when she took up her place at the Royal Academy of Music in September 2005. After completing her studies at the Royal Academy she trained as a teacher, and in September 2008 she took up an appointment at the Pilgrims' School in Winchester (a double choir school), teaching Year 3.
