Jessica Ballantine was born in Sydney, Australia, and is now in her third year reading Music at King's College, Cambridge. In Australia she attended the Junior Department of the Australian Institute of Music and was involved in various youth orchestras, including playing principal flute in the New South Wales Schools’ Symphony Orchestra. She also lived in Germany where she studied flute, violin and piano at the Rheinischer Musikschule in Cologne. In Cambridge, Jessica holds an instrumental award and is a busy chamber musician, as well as playing with many orchestras, including the Cambridge University Chamber and Symphony Orchestras. In her free time Jessica enjoys life, and is a fan of literature and poetry – as well as a big lover of food!
