Kathryn Kay (née Gibbs) studied music at the University of Birmingham and subsequently completed a PGCE with Specialist String Teaching in Manchester. She has achieved a post-graduate diploma in performance on the viola from the Royal Northern College of Music whilst studying with Roger Bigley. She is currently the Byron House Director of Music at St. John’s College School, Cambridge, where she teaches class music and the violin.  She has established a community music project at the school, Stringmoves which combines Dalcroze Eurythmics and string playing for 5-10 year olds.  Kathryn is a member of the Sinfonia of Cambridge and has performed the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante with the Cambridge String Players.  Kathryn has recently married and lives with her husband in Trumpington.
