Sophie Lockett was a Foundation Scholar at the Royal College of Music where she studied with Yossi Zivoni, previously attending the Purcell School where she studied with Erik Houston. Her passion for chamber music was kindled at an early age while attending Pro Corda and Music Works chamber music courses. Sophie leads the Cavell Quartet which she co-founded in 2006. The quartet has performed in the UK, including concerts at Wigmore Hall and in the prestigious opening festival at Kings Place, and in France. She has been playing with the long established Barbican Piano Trio since 2009. As well as directing York Young Soloists and giving workshops throughout the country with the Philharmonia's Elastic Band Sophie has performed in concert and on television with McFly, Lemar and John Barrowman. Sophie appears regularly with the London Chamber Orchestra and also plays with the London Symphony Orchestra, English Touring Opera, the Hallé and English National Opera. Photo: Sam Pearce |
